PlayStation Bugs encountered so far in co-op (v. 1.63 on PS4)

Hello!

Just started a local, splitscreen co-op meadowlands farm on the 1.63/ 1.6.9 build 37 PS4 version, and we just finished the second day.

Here are some of the issues seen so far:

- there's no music at all in Pelican Town, no matter where we enter it from; however, the music does play when we enter the villagers' houses, and it also plays in other parts of the valley (farm, forest, beach, mountains).

- the sound effects of fishing are off:

1) when the fish is reeled in, the tingling sound of getting a good mineral/artifact from a geode replaces the traditional 'successful catch' sound (we have not changed any sounds in the Options menu whatsoever)

2) in my case, the casting sound is corrupted, the jingle is completely off, it sounds almost like electronic music? Again, no sounds were changed in the Options menu.

Lastly, walking diagonally is an ordeal for my partner, as his character stutters a lot; walking from L to R, and up and down also has some stutter, but much less than diagonally.

Thank you to the team working hard to fix these!

Edit: we've played until day 6, and most of the bugs are indeed sound related, however there's a visual glitch as well!

So, a cherry bomb detonation in the mines made no sound at all.

And my partner had a visual glitch happen in the mines as well: he was eating a spring onion, but two spring onions appeared in the eating animation, however only one was consumed.

There's also good news though! The stuttering walk/run is massively improved by enabling Auto-Run in the Options menu.

So yeah, the sound and music are the biggest issues so far, which is great given some of the other problems I've read about here!

Loving it so far though, and I can only imagine the work required to fix these issues.

Good luck!

I've noticed the weird fishing sounds as well, but only in my co-op playthrough on PS.

My solo playthrough on PS doesn't have the same audio issues with fishing.

One audio issue I have noticed (dating back to previous updates too), is a certain sound effect occasionally killing the music. I believe it is one of the metallic clinks either produced by Robin when working on the farm, or by destroying one of the metal cannisters in the Volcano dungeon, I've had it happen in both circumstances.

I have also been encountering bugs during co-op on the new PS4 version.
The biggest issue, so far, that I've seen is when playing split screen, levels of the mines at random (both normal mines and skull cavern- haven't yet made it to ginger island volcano) are "frozen." Hitting rocks makes it so that there is a visual "tear" of the hit/rock breaking and weapon swing. The item appears from the broken rock, but nothing can be picked up. Enemies are at a standstill and slightly distorted, but they can still harm you. I had a broken treasure room in the skull cavern and the chest was also broken- I heard the sound of it opening, but nothing happened. Luckily, if you do uncover the ladder on these broken levels, you can still use it. This "frozen" bug is also only happening to me, the host of the farm. I also am encountering the bug that makes it look like you're eating 2 of a food, but only one is consumed, happening seemingly only in mines.

Music seems to be not playing or will play very briefly then stop (this happens during online hosting multiplayer online it seems.) Also with hosting, there is a visual hitch of your friend(s) on the map stuttering while they're walking around. There have also been multiple crashes/disconnects from server playing co-op this way.

Thank you for working to always make this a great game! :)

I've been seeing the same diagonal issue your partner is seeing, and I believe it's related to the joystick on the controller they are using. I think they changed something related to how the joystick is being read and it's affecting one of my two controllers. I would say it's just an issue with the controller, except other games don't have the problem, and it was introduced in 1.6. I'll link my post here in case someone finds this thread having the joystick issue.
